The focus of Dakota Classique Rock is the rock itself.
Our rocks are actually glacial boulders found on the rolling plains in
central South Dakota. Millions of years ago when the glaciers that once covered South Dakota
melted, they not only carved the landscape and river beds of the Dakotas, they also left behind many
large and small boulders. Today we find these boulders in farm fields and prairie pastures
along the Missouri River.
Each boulder varies in size, shape, weight, and color. The unique
color combinations and patterns found within the rocks is what makes our granite different than any
other granite found in the world. Because each rock has different characteristics, you will
never find two rocks that are the same.
Dakota Classique Rock aims to unleash the beauty within each boulder by
cutting the rocks either in half or into slices in order to create our custom products. Some
rocks display their beauty on the outside. These rocks make a perfect landmark with a carved
inscription to become an artcarved boulder.
Dakota Classique
Rock continues to create various appealing products using natural glacier boulders. Whether it
is a fire table or
landscape
lighting, we focus on the natural beauty and uniqueness of each rock.
