Dakota Classique
Rock started as a hobby for Milton Morris. With the interest of many locals and a desire to
show everyone the beauty within a rock , Milton started expanding his hobby into a business.
Dakota Classique Rock operates as a department within the Morris, Inc. company framework.
Working together, the departments assist each other with their projects and share the tools and
equipment necessary to complete their jobs.
The focus of
Dakota Classique Rock's work is the rock itself. All of our products are made from natural
glacial boulders found on the rolling plains in central South Dakota. These rocks are used by
Morris, Inc. to produce aggregate materials for highway construction projects. Instead of
breaking every boulder, Milton realized that all of the rocks had distinct characteristics about
them which made each one beautiful.
Shortly after
this realization, Milton developed an idea to create unique and custom products from these large
glacial boulders. The focus of his idea remained around the beauty withheld inside each rock.
He believed that if he could show people the unique characteristics the nature beholds, they would
be amazed. His ideas grew and grew to become Dakota Classique Rock.
Today, Milton
and the Dakota Classique Rock team are developing new ideas and products for
bringing out the natural beauty within each glacial boulder.
